What can I expect from Thrive’s prenatal series?

In this series you will compassionately navigate your changing body, learn about pregnancy and childbirth, and connect with other people that are going through the same thing as you! Some benefits of prenatal yoga include discovering intention and purpose, improved awareness, efficiency in mindful breathing, better sleep, less physical discomfort, back pain relief, finding balance, pelvic floor health, calming the nervous system, an enhanced postpartum recovery rate, amongst many others. In this space, allow yourself to feel present in the moment of what is unfolding so that you can find value and love in the experience you are having. There are many unknowns and fears when it comes to becoming a parent, and practicing prenatal yoga in a safe and guided environment has the potential to give yourself a greater opportunity for the birth you envision.

Partner Workshop for Labor and Birth

$180 per couple | June 9th, 1:30 – 4:00pm

Fun workshop for you and your partner to help you feel positive, empowered and self-assured working together. Shift into gratitude and harness the goddess energy within you to reduce common feelings of fear, worry, and stress. You are more highly intuitive during pregnancy and can learn to use your inner power for strength while bonding with your baby and your partner. In this Partner Workshop for Labor and Birth, we will navigate through a range of positions, poses, and props to cope with the natural emotions and sensations felt during birth and transform doubt into confidence.

As you connect internally, discover useful breathing exercises and relaxation techniques that can be effective during the labor process alongside your birthing support person (partner, parent, sibling, relative, friend, etc.). As a couple, collaborate intuitively and find support in each other to prepare for the baby’s arrival. We’ll make use of various everyday props including a birthing ball, folding chair, and a flat sheet to explore comfort measures and movements that can reduce the intensity of birth pangs. This workshop is designed for those who are interested in a vaginal delivery (medicated or non-medicated) and is suggested to those in their 2nd or 3rd trimester.

In this workshop:

  • Let go of the unknown Feel empowered and confident about being in your body and birthing your baby.
  • Cultivate knowledge Practice ideal positions for birth, breath work, and partner exercises along with guidance for your partner to better assist you during birth.
  • Connect Delve deeper into your own knowledge and foundation while bonding with your partner and baby in a community of other parents-to-be.

**Bring a pen/pencil, journal, snacks, and any other item that you may want to use for comfort (such as a blanket or pillow however the studio does provide these props for you) and wear comfortable clothing.
