Knitting Circle: The Weekender Light Sweater

Level: Advanced beginner to intermediate

Materials: Weekender Light Pattern by Andrea Mowry, enough yarn for your size, and needles as recommended by the pattern.

Hey there knitters!  Join Felicia her assistant, Deborah, and the knitting community for this 8-week enrollment series to knit the beautiful Weekender Light sweater. You bring all the materials to the first class, and we’ll cast on together on day one.  We progress through the pattern with instruction along the way to engage in:

  • Knitting in the round;
  • Faux seams;
  • Three needle bind off;
  • Short rows;
  • Tubular bind-off;
  • Independent knitting between sessions.

This is a cozy and comfortable, seamless, pullover sweater with roomy construction and faux seams. It is a fun and surprisingly easy knit that will soon become your go-to sweater!  It is flattering on all body types.  Felicia and Deborah are available before the first session to assist you in yarn selection and finding your correct size. Knitting Circle: Tools and Techniques

Wednesdays 4:30 PM – 5:45 PM

March 22 – May 10 2023

Bring your own project, connect with your creative self and join a community of knitters!

Over eight weeks, you will receive individualized support and instruction so you can successfully complete your work.  Each week will include a ‘mini-lesson’ to help hone your knitting skills!  These techniques are teacher and group generated and may include:

  • Learning how to single crochet to create borders
  • Learning how to increase and decrease stitches
  • Picking up a dropped stitch using a crochet hook
  • Learning the long tail and twisted German cast on methods
  • Practicing other techniques from YOUR individual projects!

Knitting since a teenager, Felicia has completed hundreds of items—socks, purses, sweaters, kitchen towels, baby blankets, and more!  With patience and guidance, she helps knitters of all levels find joy and relaxation in this moving meditation practice.

The series includes weekly pop-ups (optional) on Fridays at an off-site location.

All levels of knitters are welcome!
