Common feelings that revolve around labor and delivery include fear, anxiety and stress. As soon as you become pregnant, feelings of change and discomfort hit the mind and body almost immediately but with that comes room for growth, empowerment and elevated intuition. Comfort Measures for Labor is a workshop created to provide tools and resources to navigate through negative feelings and doubt as well as enhance bonds between families. For pregnant mamas, you’ll gain more confidence as we venture through each stage of labor learning specific positions, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques to help relieve pain and worry during labor. As a couple, learn to work as a team in preparation for labor and delivery. Please note that your partner can be anybody you trust who will be present during the baby’s birth (partner, parent, relative, friend, etc).

In this workshop:

  • Let go of the unknown: feel empowered and confident about being in your body and birthing your baby
  • Cultivate knowledge: with each stage of birth, we’ll explore sensations, what happens to you and baby, asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breath work), and partner exercises along with tips for your partner to better assist you during birth.
  • Connect: delve deeper into your own intuition while bonding with your partner and baby amongst other parents-to-be in the Thrive community

**Bring a pen/pencil, journal, personal snacks, and any other item that you may want to use for comfort (such as a blanket or pillow however the studio does provide these props for you) and please wear comfortable clothing.
